What Are The Signs of Menopause?
When the ovaries stop producing estrogen, and periods cease for one year, this is the time of life where menopause changes occur. Even if it is a natural process, it’s complex however. Estrogen levels become low and menopausal symptoms begin.
The Menopause Changes:
Some women may experience none; while others may run the gamut from hot flashes to mood swings to night sweats. Other symptoms may include irregular periods, and vaginal or urinary tract infections. It is estimated that about 75% of women report some troublesome symptoms during menopause.
The severity and frequency of symptoms actually varies from woman to woman. Irregular bleeding can occur up to menopause.
In some cases, periods may be of a short duration, or last longer than usual. In addition, the bleeding may vary from light to heavy and the time between periods may also fluctuate.

Vaginal dryness can also occur, as may itching or irritation. Although few women experience serious problems with vaginal dryness and thinning right after menopause, both dryness and thinning continue to occur over time.

Some doctors estimate that at least, half of all women older than 60 years have some degree of vaginal dryness. Regular sexual intercourse can help to keep the vagina moist and toned. Mood swings occur frequently in menopausal women. In fact, these symptoms mimic PMS.
Hot flashes are symptomatic of menopause.
What is a hot flash? It is a sudden feeling of intense heat which encompasses your entire body. For example: your face feels very red; you begin to sweat, and sometimes experience anxiety or irritability. It is uncomfortable at best; but once you understand the cause, you can deal with it. Hot flashes can last from seconds to minutes. However, it must be said that it does feel quite longer. Again, it varies from woman to woman.
While studies suggest hot flashes occur in the first two years after menopause and gradually lessen, there is also documentation that some women have hot flashes for several years after menopause; up to 40 years or longer. This is evidenced by another case in which a woman is still having hot flashes at the age of 80. Disheartening, but true!
In addition, hot flashes that occur during the night can disrupt sleep. In fact, some women report that their bed sheets become soaked with sweat when they have a hot flash during the night.

Thanks for all the useful information. Your insight is very keen. Keep it up.

When you reach menopause, you may need some hormone replacement therapy just to stay on top shape.`;~
Osteoporosis is very common specially in old persons. Food supplementation with calcium and magnesium helps a lot to slow down osteoporosis. .*:
you can also reduce the sypmtoms of menopause by having hormone replacement therapy.~`,
I just want to say – thank you for this wonderful post
Nice finding here… wasnt’ aware of that a blog on this topic existed, thanks admin.
menopause symptoms can be remedied by hormone replacement therapy”:~
i take calcium lactate to prevent osteoporis`’-
I also use HRT for my nagging menopause symptoms which has proven to be effective until late when i read about the risks involved with using it for long period of time like breast cancer, heart attacks and strokes. This gave me panic attacks that i had to run to my doctor to clarify.
Anyway, what a nice post you have. Thanks.
too much vitamin-a can also cause osteoporosis but aging is the number cause of it ~:`
I wasn’t sure what HRT was so I looked it up. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a medical treatment system for menopausal women. The treatment is intended to prevent discomfort caused by the symptoms of menopause. It involves low doses of estrogen and even testosterone. It can be administered by patches, tablets or creams.
I have reached that age where I needed to have hormone levels taken. HRT was advised. I opted to use naturals from a company (check the website associated with my name). I feel great and feel very balanced now. Life is great!
The average age of menopause onset is 51 years old. There is no single method to predict when a woman will experience menopause.
I’m in my 40′s and going through early menopause and estrogen helps smooth out the hot flashes and mood swings for me.

I’ve heard some of these symptoms from my Mom she had her menopause, and honestly I didn’t understand her that time. But good thing I’ve came across to you post. Great article. Thanks for explaining well.
Wow, this is a really informative article. I didn’t know menopause was so nuanced… guess I have a lot to look forward to :/ And I’ll make sure to send my mom your way…
Anyway, thanks for the work–and keep it up!!
Undergoing a menopausal period is not a joke. I’ve witnessed my mother going to her doctor everytime she feels something and then she just goes home un-diagnosed. Because she is not sick, she’s just in her menopausal period. I think it’s a very difficult moment in a woman’s life. I just hope when it’s my time to undergo it, I’ll ride on with it and just feel healthy.
80 is far too old to be dealing with hot flashes. It just seems unfair at that age :/
